Devigiri-Deviramma temple is located on top of this hill which is open only during Deepavali,there’s a saying that Mysore palace used to initiate celebration based on indication (lighting) from this hill.A significant deity in Karnataka,Deviramma is an incarnation of chamundeshwari or Durga,the fierce from of Shakti.

Deviramma betta is named because of the temple of Deviramma at the top of this hill.Iy is situated in the Chandra drona hill ranges next to Manikyadhara.Distance from Chikkamagalur city is about 26km.In the 10th century A.D., a statue of Deviramma was reportedly found in the hills of Chikkamagalur. Later, in the 12th century A.D., a spiritual master of palahara Siddeshwara Swamy Mutt is believed to have recommended a place to build the Deviramma temple

As a part of deepotsava,there will be Mahaganapati Pooja,punyaha,agnikunda pooja,kalasa sthapane and kumkumarchane.Sorrounded by spectacular peaks of Mullayanagiri and,Bababudangiri in the Western Ghats. This temple is a stunning destination in chikkamagalur district, Karnataka.
